So it's been a while since my last post. Needless to say things have been hectic and crazy. We found out at the end of Oct. my husband and I will not be moving. Due to a hang up in his re-enlistment paper work with the ARMY we have decided not to re-enlist. However he loves the duty he provides and the responsibilities that come with serving our state and country. So he decided to re-sign for 6 years with the guard unit he has been with the past year. Either way being shipped off to the middle east will be inevitable. His recruiter said that what would most likely happen is that we would have moved across country and they would have trained him for a couple of months then ship him off........leaving me in a new place and no one I know around me. We know his guard unit here is on alert to be shipped out sometime in 2009. We figured it would be better all around to stay here so I could be around family when deployment does take place and also he will be with the guys he have served with in the guard the past year. I am thinking it is just better all around.
Anyways........I have a pic of the kids I would love to share with you from Halloween.

As you can see Nicholas was Batman, Katelynn was a "PUNK WITCH" a very cute costume indeed, and Spencer my adopted nephew from Hati was Buzz Light year. The kiddos had a lot of fun, and we enjoyed it as well. I think that for Nicholas and Spencer it was even more exciting because they actually understood what was going on this year.
Also here are a few pics of Katelynn's activities at school, the elementary school last year decided that the older kids dressing up was to much hassle. I don't understand there choice and I know a few parents who are not happy with the decision that they made. Apparently they thought the Halloween parade was to time consuming. After all the kids in kindergarten get to dress up, but 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, and 4th grades do not get to participate, but then in the middle school the 5th and 6th graders get to dress up.....HMMMMMMM? Seems a bit unfair to me. Anyways. Instead of dressing up the entire 3rd grade participated in a VOCABULARY extravaganza. They each picked a word, and shared what that word meant, a great way to learn vocabulary. They made a paper bag vest and got to decorate it to help define to word.

Here is Katelynn sharing her word........and what was her word? PREPOSTEROUS. Such a fun word.

Here is Katelynn and her friend Bronlyn with there lovely and stylin' paper bag vests............RADIANT, and PREPOSTEROUS........fits these two wonderfully.
It was a fun day indeed, but as for time consuming they all spent an 1 1/2 on sharing words, wearing decorated paperbag vests, but could not dress up for Halloween? I don't understand the difference. But AHHH well.

Katelynn look like a doll in that costume. Love it. Spencer and Nicholas seem to be loving this holiday.
Oh my gosh, Katelynn is the cutest little witch I have ever seen. You are so lucky that boys mature slower than girls, because you are going to be in big trouble once the boys wake up to what a cutie she is.
