Well last Christmas Katelynn received an American Girl doll. She really did fall in love with Samantha the spring break we spent with Krissy in California over a year ago. While we were there Katelynn was introduced to American GIrl ( thanks Krissy) bought a book a Samantha book, and a mini Samantha doll, who knew her love for Samantha would grow into what it has today. For Christmas, Katelynn received a American Girl Cook book, cooking with Samantha and it came with a mini American girl doll calendar for 2008, Katelynn quickly discovered that Samantha's birthday was coming up, as a matter of fact May 26th. So I Decided to have fun with it, we bought Samantha a mini cake, a card, new shoes and Katelynn made Samantha her own quilt, with grandma's help.
I must say I was never into doll's as a child and it was fun to see Katelynn anticipate something like this. It was quite fun, we sang happy birthday to Samantha, and then as the kids were eating cake Katelynn acted as if she were feeding it to Samantha. All the while Nicholas kept asking Samantha if her cake was good, as if she was going to answer him back.
It was fun to see what goes on in the minds of kids while we were celebrating this very special occasion of celebrating Samantha's birthday. Here are a couple of pics I took.
